Have just taken a look at your site, I
have been letter boxing on Dartmoor for about ten years and have collected about
400 boxes there are about 8000-10000 boxes on Dartmoor which covers
an area of 365 sq. miles quite small by your standards. some boxes are
vandalised by small minded people with a low intelligence threshold other boxes
are placed on the moor without notifying the organisation that collates and
publishes the location boxes.
I am a
"traveller" I carry a stamp with me to exchange with other travellers but only
if I am asked - are you a traveller? some boxes are static and are
placed in pubs hotels campsites cafes and tourist attractions these are
published in the book but you still have to ask!! I am sure it will take
off over the water but only if you can stop it becoming commercialised as money
will remove the fun of discovery

Hi Duncan "E" & Craig
Welcome to LbNA land
Indeed the LbNA and its earlier sisters grew from the Dartmoor
tradition..so welcome to the New World Letterboxing Phenomena !
Do browse the wonderful LbNA site ..look up the early articles ..you'll
see ..
Look over the map and the huge set of "clues" (much more detailed than
ours)
It's magic ! Enjoy !
It's done "BIG" in the Big Country !
